1. Nurse to patient ratio is better. With my company and in my area, we are assigned either one or two patients at a time. Take note that these patients will be more critical than the ones in the outpatient units.
2. Hospitals are great learning environments. You get to encounter unusual cases and learn from hospital staff.
3. Pay is better compared to chronic dialysis nursing.
4. Help is always available right away. If your patient crashes, just call RRT or code blue and a whole team will be there immediately.
5. Less paperworks. You don’t have to do monthly assessments, vascular monitoring, anemia management, etc.
